The QiRanger Adventures

One week to go!

Recording

The weekend is quickly approaching and that means only one thing (well maybe more than that): It means that Jo and I are off for another adventure!

This time we’re headed down to the island paradise of Jeju. It’s going to be an action-packed trip that is sure to make for some great video footage, so stay tuned.

However, more importantly, I only have one more week of physio before my knee is evaluated again. I briefly spoke with the doctor on Friday and he agrees that things are progressing nicely, so hopefully next week, (just in time for September), I’ll be given a clean bill of health and I can resume trekking in the mountains again.

Also, I’ve begun recording the audio for my book. Previously this summer, I started writing a travel book for an online store. Not only was there a written version, but an audio companion as well. With the manuscript done, I’ve now turned to recording each chapter. One would think that with all the videos I do that recording the audio would be easy. I can assure that a simple 4-minute piece can take well into 30 minutes with all the flubs and noise that come from recording at home.

Since the audio book recounts a two-week trip I took through the National Parks, I’d like to know this: What’s the best trip you ever taken and why?

Have a great weekend and stay safe!

  1. The best trip of my life may always be my first solo road trip. I was 16, had a beat up red convertible sports car and nothing else. It was fantastic, spent a few weeks going from Wilmington, North Carolina across to Los Angeles, California and a few places between. Came back a changed guy with a what can only be described as a fire under my ass for travel and adventure.

    What was your best trip?

Audiobook sounds awesome, I’ll have to check it out when it’s released!

    • One of the best trips through the parks. It’s what the audio book is about! I’ll let everyone know when it’s ready!

  2. Oh yes getting the right takes can be a nightmare.

I’m really keen to read (or listen) to your book. I will confess up front though that I’m not much of a traveler. lol

    • Yeah, it’s amazing that I have such a problem doing these things. However, It’s been a fun process. I only have a few more parts to record and then I’ll be done! John, you should get out and travel more! Maybe do a little on-the-road interviewing while hitting a lot of Australia.

  3. I just started traveling more 3 years ago so I haven’t gained much experience yet but so far, for the best overseas trip, it is Korea. It is actually one of my dream destinations. Though my favorite group(TVXQ) was not there when I visited, i loved experiencing their culture. I also enjoyed going to the DMZ though I loathed the story behind it. It is also the place where I feel connected to Korea since Filipino soldiers also shed their blood there during the Korean War.

For local destination, it’s Boracay. The white beach, the calm waters plus great company with family, nothing could beat that. šŸ˜€

    • I really enjoy exploring Korea. There is so much to see and do here. I am also excited to explore more and more of the Philippines. Each trip, we venture out to a new place for me. I can’t wait to return in a few months!

  4. I think the best trip so far must be last year’s trip to Thailand, for my best friend’s wedding. I was maid of honour, and it was a blast learning about Thai weddings, and all the stuff that goes with it! It was a rush, since an entire wedding was planned in one week and a half šŸ˜›

But it was a great honour to be able to take part in something like that, especially as a maid of honour, and it’s something I’ll never forget! šŸ˜€

Good luck with the audio book! šŸ˜€

  5. I think I’m going to head to Jeju before/after the meet up in Seoul. Depends. My hagwon isn’t taking the whole week of. We’re going to work either Monday or Friday. So frugal!

    • I hope you can make it down there. Book your tickets now, since things get really busy during the Chuseok travel period! Looking forward to seeing you at the gathering!
