Room Desk

Jo and I made it back safely into Seoul and Dongtan last night. Truth be told, the vacation was far too short and I wished I could have stayed longer in the Philippines, exploring more sights with her. I’ll be writing more about our experiences in the days to come (after all, I do need to sift through the photos and videos), but I would like to give a plug to the Diamond Hotel.

This is the hotel where Jo and I stayed during our stay in Manila. It’s right on Manila Bay, a short distance away from SM Mall of Asia, the CCP, and the Airport.

Everything about this hotel was awesome. The rooms were large with great beds and baths. What was also great, is that each room came with a mini-fridge stocked full of goodies for you to enjoy (for an additional charge). However, what really sold me on the hotel was the service. While there were somethings you had to pay for in the room, they did give you (for FREE), two bottles of water, two sodas, two C2 drinks, Oreos, coffee, and tea every day. It’s amazing to see a 5-Star hotel give you that much for free.

The other thing I thought was rather cool, was that installed in the room desk were two plugs with built-in universal adapters. Usually using a computer in another country requires use of an extra adapter and then moving everything around the plug out of the way so you can actually use it. Not here. They really thought ahead. This was especially nice, since Jo and I had multiple cameras and devices that needed recharging. We could use our own plug adapters (after all, we are experienced travelers) in the walls, and then other devices in the desk. it was awesome. The hotel’s second floor was dedicated to conference facilities and every plug had this feature.

What’s your favorite hotel experience?

  1. Wow! Glad that you enjoyed your stay here in the Philippines. I’ve been to Diamond Hotel twice to meet with my dad’s friend and had dinner at the restaurant at the top of the hotel. That was my first time to eat steak that is medium rare. hehe!

Can’t wait to read your adventures here in the Philippines.

  2. Wow! I’ve never come across an hotel that has a universal plug built in, that’s awesome!

It’s a bit annoying when you want to charge several things at once, but only have one adapter available.
