Another Week…

with 10 comments

The week has started and I have found myself with a ton of work that needs to be completed. With Jo gone, I’ve found myself distracted and unfocused. This needs to change! It’s true, that behind every great man, there is a greater woman… and I miss mine.

I was very happy with the way the Bali video turned out, but was a little surprised when a few people in the YouTube comment section mentioned how short the video was. Normally, I try to keep my videos under 5 minutes. Other travel videos in series have been in the 4-minute range, so this was only a little bit shorter, but I didn’t think it was that short. I’ll see if I can satisfy the director in me and make a slightly longer Jakarta set.

That being said, I spent a few hours yesterday transcoding the Jakarta footage and will begin that editing process this week. However, I’m a bit behind because of a few other projects. Today, I need to head into Seoul early for a meeting. We’ll see what becomes of the meeting, it’s something that has been in the works for over a month, and something that I all lost sight of, since schedules just didn’t seem to match up. I will also head into Itaewon on Wednesday to film an interview for one of my upcoming Korean projects.

With all these filming events, I haven’t had time to work on my Korean lessons. Something that I need to get back into doing ASAP. My current plan is to tackle the Talk to Me in Korean Lessons in their entirety (Level 1 and 2) before resuming Rosetta Stone. I love Rosetta Stone, but it takes some time to get things done. I can handle a podcast much more easily. I also need to get back into the gym routine. I went a few times last week, but couldn’t do any cardio, since my knees were still messed up from the Temple Stay. It’s my hope that this week I can resume running, but had to pass on things today. Sleeping in a big bed without Jo is taking a little more getting used to than I thought… and while I went to bed at 10pm last night…. I didn’t sleep until 2am. I’m too tired to go running and need to jump into the shower for my meeting!

OK, enough about me… How are you? What did you do this weekend?

  1. I worked. Like I usually do. But someone has to count all the little green pieces of paper on the weekends.

My son went fishing with his Dad and caught a 3.5 pound catfish. I’ll probably DB the photo tomorrow.

Here’s to hoping the time without Jo is short. It’s amazing how quickly you can get used to someone else being there.

    • It will be short in some regards, but so long in other aspects! Glad you got to count lots of green!!! Hopefully the fish will taste as good as it looked!

  2. Funny how quickly your life totally changed, eh? Good luck with the meetings – may they come to fruition in a way that is beneficial to you and your plans. We went for a bike ride, did grocery shopping, had family Father’s Day bbq at my daughter’s house and generally just enjoyed life a lot. Can’t really beat that.

    • Awesome! I can’t wait to see what you do!!! Too bad you can’t swing by Korea!

  5. Well thanks for asking?

I went to Chicago and had my interview with the Korean consulate.

Then… went to Lake Michigan. Last little vacation in the states for awhile.

Took video and am editing it now. Been a few years since I’ve done video editing. Forgot just how much footage you need. Came up a little short.

Oh well. Better learned now than in Korea.

    • Yes, sometimes you are just short… other times, you are way, way long. Video editing is a challenge, but a great one! Glad your interview went well. It’s something I never had to do!
